Michigan football finds itself in an impressive position after securing back-to-back Big Ten championships this decade. Leading the charge for the Wolverines’ offense is Blake Corum, a senior running back who was on the cusp of Heisman Trophy contention last season before sustaining an injury against Illinois in Week 12. As the 2023 season approaches, NFL Draft analysts are already turning their attention to the 2024 draft, with one analyst ranking Corum as the top running back in his class.

Blake Corum named the top running back target for the 2024 NFL Draft

Despite his status as one of the premier players in college football last year, Blake Corum made the decision to forgo the 2023 NFL Draft and return to Ann Arbor for his senior season. This key returnee is a vital component of the Wolverines’ offense, adding to their potential for a national championship-worthy campaign for the first time in a few decades.

Irrespective of future developments, as long as Blake Corum can avoid injury this fall, the nation expects him to be a highly sought-after prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft. In fact, according to The Athletic’s Dane Brugler, Corum is the No. 1 target among running backs in the upcoming draft cycle.

“Corum is a ball of energy as a runner with above-average vision and decision-making,” Brugler wrote in a recent article. “He has the agile footwork to make sharp cuts without slowing down and always keeps his eyes and feet on the same page.”

Michigan football is anticipating a tremendous year from Blake Corum in 2023, and if he can meet these high expectations, the Wolverines could position themselves for a shot at the title for the third consecutive year.
