New rankings were released today via 247 Sports. In these new rankings, current Ohio State QB commit Air Noland has surpassed Michigan football commit Jadyn Davis, although both quarterbacks still rank among the top 5.

Air Noland jumps Michigan football commit Jadyn Davis in new 247 Sports rankings

Jadyn Davis has been the talk of the town in Ann Arbor for quite some time. He announced his commitment to the Wolverines back in March, helping boost the Wolverines’ class to the No. 1 spot in the rankings soon after. While Michigan football does not currently hold the top spot in the 2024 composite rankings, the Maize and Blue are still in the top 3 heading into July.

Today, new 247 Sports rankings for the 2024 recruiting class were released, and some surprising news came the Wolverines’ way. Ohio State QB commit Air Noland, who reportedly performed well at the Elite 11 finals, has entered the top 5 quarterbacks nationally, surpassing Michigan football quarterback commit Jadyn Davis. However, both talented QBs remain among the top 5 nationally.

According to these new 247 Sports rankings, Davis is now considered a four-star quarterback, ranking as the No. 41 player in the nation and the No. 5 quarterback in the 2024 cycle. Additionally, Air Noland remains a four-star prospect, but he now ranks as the No. 35 player nationally and the No. 4 quarterback in the cycle.

While this may be discouraging news for Michigan football fans, it is not the end-all-be-all — Davis and Noland still have a full season of high school football to play before signing with their respective college programs. Considering that the rankings have already been shuffled quite a bit, there is clearly plenty of time for Jadyn Davis to regain his footing and reclaim his fifth star before his first season with the Michigan football program.
