Tomorrow, the Wolverines take the field for the second time this season. After downing East Carolina by 27 points last weekend, the Maize and Blue are looking to continue building momentum on the year, this time against the UNLV Rebels (1-0). With some banged-up players right now, here is our projected Michigan football injury report for tomorrow’s game — we will have an official update sometime tomorrow ahead of kickoff.

Who will be OUT?

Last weekend, Michigan football was without the following players, who were all ruled ‘OUT’ before the ECU game: Amorion Walker, Tavierre Dunlap, Jimmy Rodler, German Green, Logan Forbes, and Peyton O’Leary.

This weekend, Amorion Walker is likely going to be out, perhaps O’Leary as well, though many of these players could be listed as ‘QUESTIONABLE’ ahead of tomorrow afternoon’s game. Additionally, it’s worth noting that Rod Moore and Will Johnson were both questionable last weekend, yet both are yet to see the field.

Who will be QUESTIONABLE?

These players were a game-time decision last weekend for Michigan football: Rod Moore, Makari Paige, Will Johnson, Darrius Clemons, Tyler Morris, Cornelius Johnson, Matt Hibner, Danny Hughes, and Cole Cabana.

For this weekend’s Michigan football matchup against the UNLV Rebels, we project that Cornelius Johnson and Makari Paige will both be either questionable or be off the list altogether — both saw action for the Wolverines last weekend, though Paige was taken out pretty early.

That said, players like Cole Cabana, Will Johnson, Tyler Morris, and Rod Moore are the top names to watch. From what the staff has been saying, it doesn’t sound like Moore or Johnson are in line to get many reps this weekend — not because they are not healthy, but because no one wants to rush anyone back from injury early in the season. Perhaps both Wolverine defensive backs will see some snaps early on (as Makari Paige did last weekend), though will get taken out as soon as the defense gets its stride.

As for the others — especially younger players, like Cole Cabana — the depth of the roster makes it hard for many people to see the field, so there will likely be a lot of game-time decisions tomorrow. For the time being, the only notable loss that I am confident in is defensive back Amorion Walker, who also missed Week 1 due to a fall camp injury.
