Last night, elite Michigan football commit Jadyn Davis, a former five-star quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class, took the field for the first time this year. During Providence Day’s season opener, the future Wolverine lit it up, flashing passing prowess and putting up an insane stat line en route to a 42-35 victory over Rock Hill Northwestern — a game that has the nation abuzz about the future of Jim Harbaugh’s program.
Elite Michigan football commit Jadyn Davis has the nation abuzz
Next year, when the 2024 recruiting class gets to campus in Ann Arbor, potential five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis will be leading the way, just as JJ McCarthy did with the 2021 class. Jadyn Davis committed to Michigan football back in March, and since then, has been the crown jewel of Jim Harbaugh’s 2024 recruiting class, which currently ranks among the nation’s best despite a few recent hiccups (7th nationally).
Jadyn Davis posts insane stat line in Week 1
Last night, Jadyn Davis and Providence Day High School took the field for the first time this year, opening their 2023 season with a 42-35 victory. Perhaps no player stood out more last night than Davis, who is currently battling to regain his status as a five-star quarterback — he committed to Mcihigan football as a five-star, yet recently lost that elite status. Here are some of Davis’s stats from last night:
- 450+ yards
- Five touchdowns
- 0 interceptions

Additionally, On3 recruiting expert EJ Holland was at the game and took a number of videos of Jadyn Davis slinging it around — all of which are on his Twitter page, and I recommend checking them out. Here is a taste of what Davis did last night — an 80-yard touchdown pass to fellow Michigan football commit Channing Goodwin (wide receiver, 2024 recruiting class).
Even the top experts are taking note of former five-star quarterback, current Michigan football commit
It’s clear that the nation is taking note of this former five-star quarterback and current elite Michigan football commit. Even 247 Sports recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong, one of the most respected names in college recruiting, took to Twitter to express enthusiasm about Davis’s performance last night.
Right now, Jadyn Davis is a composite/industry four-star quarterback, though as the season progresses, he will be in the running to regain his status as a five-star quarterback. Regardless of the number of stars next to his name, it is clear that the future of Michigan football is in great hands.
