Yesterday, 247 Sports updated its 2024 recruiting rankings. While some Wolverines, such as four-star cornerback Jo’Ziah Edmond, are on the rise, others are on the decline. One thing that stands out quite a bit, however, is that there is a new No. 1 Michigan football commit in the cycle: four-star offensive tackle Andrew Sprague.

There is a new No. 1 Michigan football commit: Andrew Sprague

Andrew Sprague has been committed to Michigan football since April — he has since become a focal point of the class and one of the team’s vocal recruiters on social media and more. With 247 Sports updating its recruiting rankings yesterday, the Wolverines’ impressive four-star offensive tackle is now the highest-ranked player in Jim Harbaugh’s next recruiting class.

Sprague saw a 50+ spot jump, moving from No. 106 nationally to No. 54 nationally — when he first committed, he was pinned as the No. 208 player in the country, so he has steadily been on the rise in the national eye.

According to On3, four-star Ohio running back Jordan Marshall is still the No. 1 Michigan football commit in the 2024 recruiting class; however, this is a topic that will be debated up until (and likely after) National Signing Day next year. In fact, many analysts and fans still consider four-star quarterback Jadyn Davis to be the Wolverines’ top commit right now, though he has steadily been on the decline since committing to Michigan back in March.

NSD is still a few months out, though if you are not already familiar with elite Michigan football commit Andrew Sprague, now is the time to acquaint yourself.
