Two top Michigan football targets trending elsewhere

Michigan football has been winning a lot of recruitments lately, but you can’t win them all.

Anyone who follows recruiting knows that things can and will change in an instant. We have seen that over and over again and it happened again with Michigan football.

One of the recruits on campus recently was four-star defensive lineman Maxwell Roy. The top 300 defensive line target is among the top targets on the board and EJ Holland, who had previously projected him to Michigan football, changed that projection to Ohio State.

It seems like the Buckeyes have grabbed the lead. That’s a tough blow. You can’t win them all though and the good news is that Michigan football already has three four-star commitments on the D-line.

Still, I wanted Roy too. It didn’t seem like Ohio State had built much momentum after hosting Roy for a visit but that’s changed now for the 6-foot-2, 290-pound recruit out of Delran, New Jersey.

The Buckeyes have a 76-percent chance of winning his commitment now according to the On3 prediction machine.

Michigan football target gets a Fong Bomb to Oregon

Four-star running back Jordon Davison, a top-100 running back in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, has started trending to Oregon thanks to a projection from On3 recruiting expert Steve Wilftong.

Wiltfong reported earlier on Tuesday that his recruitment was down to Michigan and Oregon. The Ducks are always tough to beat on the recruiting trail and you wonder if NIL was a factor.

There have been rumblings about Michigan dropping bags or being more competitive with NIL and this makes you wonder about that. Overall though, recruiting for Michigan is trending up, despite these projected misses.
