The sign-stealing allegations that the Wolverines are facing right now have fans and media members on edge, especially as massive games against teams like Penn State and Ohio State are fast-approaching. While analysts like Stephen A. Smith and Paul Finebaum continue to call on the Big Ten Conference to punish Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines — which Pete Thamel reports is not likely to happen — the team itself continues to tune out the noise. Yesterday, Michigan football star offensive lineman Trevor Keegan explained what the allegations mean to him and his teammates.

Allegations are “bothersome” to this Michigan football star

According to long-time Michigan football star offensive guard Trevor Keegan, who has been a key piece on both of the Wolverines’ Big Ten title-winning teams this decade, these sign-stealing allegations and how everything has been reported is “bothersome.”

“I don’t have too much say on that,” Michigan football star offensive guard Trevor Keegan said yesterday evening. “But as a player that has been here a while, it’s bothersome, because we’ve worked so hard to change this program and bring it back to where it’s supposed to be.

“Everybody can make their allegations all they want, but the people who were in here know what we do, and we know how we work. We know how we are as teammates and as a family here. So yeah, it’s whatever. It’s whatever at this point.”

Are the sign-stealing allegations a distraction for the Wolverines?

While Michigan football is trying to not let in any noise, Trevor Keegan says that the allegations that his program is facing are obviously a distraction. Still, the Maize and Blue are locked in on the task at hand: winning a national title behind 9th-year head coach Jim Harbaugh.

“Obviously, (the sign-stealing allegations) are a distraction,” the All-Big Ten offensive guard added. “But you know the guys and the people in this facility, people in this program, our heads are so focused on our goals. There’s maybe a little roadblock, a little adversity we gotta go past, but we’re ready to roll. That is our mindset right now. Like (Head Coach Jim Harbaugh) said — ‘People, they got their opinions, are welcome to have it.’

“But, as a team, and as a leader, we’re gonna continue to be us, what we’ve done the past three years, we’re gonna continue to work, continue to do what we do, and continue to work for each other in this team, in this program,” he said. “So that’s really it.”

Michigan football to kick off November football this weekend at the Big House

This weekend, Michigan football, Jim Harbaugh, and Trevor Keegan will all re-take the field at the Big House for the first time in three weeks. The Wolverines’ final month of football will kick off on Saturday with a night game against Purdue, which will be followed by a crucial three-game stretch: at No. 11 Penn State, at Maryland, and against No. 1 Ohio State.
