This weekend, Michigan football quarterback JJ McCarthy and his No. 3 Michigan Wolverines (11-0, 8-0 Big Ten) are slated to face the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes (11-0, 8-0) at the Big House in Ann Arbor, MI. While McCarthy appears to have been dealing with some kind of injury over the past few weeks, he and Sherrone Moore explained on Monday that he is feeling fantastic. In fact, yesterday, we got another update on how McCarthy is doing with just a few days until kickoff against the Buckeyes in the biggest game of the year for both teams.
Michigan football quarterback JJ McCarthy doing great, Trevor Keegan confirms
According to Michigan football star Trevor Keegan, an offensive guard, junior quarterback JJ McCarthy is doing just fine heading into this Saturday’s bout against Ohio State. Keegan also explained that having JJ McCarthy as a runner is immensely helpful for the offense and makes him a “special” player for Michigan.
“Yeah, most definitely (he is moving around well),” Trevor Keegan said Tuesday. “Definitely his legs — just the player that he is, he just makes stuff happen. And it’s special because, you know, instead of having an extra (blocker) — just him running the ball leaves a guy short. Whatever JJ (McCarthy) does, we’re right there trusting him. He’s a playmaker, and he makes magic happen, so it’s a really cool thing.
“Yeah, I think so,” added Keegan when asked for confirmation that the star Michigan football quarterback is moving around well in practice leading up to the Ohio State game.
Fans’ injury concerns starting to fade with latest news on Michigan star QB
For the time being, it sounds like the injury concerns with JJ McCarthy were largely — if not wholly — precautionary in hopes that he would be 100% for the Ohio State game this weekend.
As of right now, Michigan football coaches and players alike are confirming that McCarthy is moving around well and feeling fantastic, so the focus can return to the task at hand in Schembechler Hall: winning a third-straight matchup against the Buckeyes.
