It almost makes too much sense. Blake Corum has officially signed yet another NIL deal, this one being with MLB Hall of Famer Derek Jeter’s apparel company. Both men are heavily tied to the University of Michigan, having attended the school. Since leaving for the MLB en route to becoming a New York Yankees legend, Jeter has continued his relationship with the University, and this is yet another example.

Corum signs deal with Derek Jeter’s apparel company

Derek Jeter’s apparel company, Greatness Wins, announced the partnership on the company’s Twitter account. In the post, they express their excitement, saying, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with such a talented athlete who embodies our core values both on and off the field.”

Both players have consistently worn the No. 2 jersey throughout their careers, furthering the connection between the Michigan men. Not to mention, it certainly helps that they both are stars in their respective sports.

Jeter spent his entire professional career with the New York Yankees, who drafted him in 1992. He played four years in the Minor League before making his MLB debut in 1995. From there, he would go on to be a 14x All-Star and a 5x World Champion.

On the other side, Blake Corum has proven to be an all-time great playing for Michigan football in his short time with the program. In three seasons with the Wolverines, he’s ran the ball for 2,492 yards and 31 touchdowns. Now he’s widely viewed as one of the best running backs in all of college football and is a Heisman Trophy candidate heading into the 2023 season.

Corum, a senior heading into the 2023 season, is the first student-athlete to sign on with the brand, an honor he is undoubtedly deserving of.

What they had to say

For Michigan football running back Blake Corum, this NIL deal appears to be a dream that even he might not have known was possible. Growing up a Derek Jeter fan, he expressed excitement about having the opportunity to work with his apparel company.

“After wearing the number 2 for my whole life because of Derek Jeter, it feels surreal to be working alongside him and the Greatness Wins team in this new chapter, as I head into my last season of college football.”

Jeter also chimed in regarding the NIL deal, continuing the excitement that all parties involved appear to share.

“Blake’s talent, work ethic, resiliency and integrity make him an exceptional athlete and great teammate. At Greatness Wins, we talk about greatness being a mentality, and that’s a spirit that Corum shares. We’re really looking forward to working with him and watching what he’s able to continue to accomplish.”

Expect to see plenty of Greatness Wins’ apparel going forward, as Blake Corum will likely be wearing plenty of it heading into this coming season with Michigan football. Check out everything the brand has to offer by clicking here.
