Today marks the start of the 2023 official visit slate for Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines. Jordan Shipp, a four-star wide receiver in the 2024 recruiting class and a major Michigan football target, is set to arrive in Ann Arbor today, and the Wolverines are looking to establish themselves as a frontrunner in his recruitment. Right now, NC State appears to have a lead, but Harbaugh and company want this four-star teammate of Jadyn Davis badly and will undoubtedly be throwing everything they have at him.

Major Michigan football target is on campus for official visit

According to the ON3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Jordan Shipp is a top-ranked Michigan football target and a major four-star wide receiver in the 2024 recruiting class. Jadyn Davis, the Wolverines’ current five-star quarterback commit, is quite familiar with Shipp, as he is a star wide receiver at Davis’s high school in North Carolina.

2024 recruiting class chemistry?

A Providence Day High School product, Shipp has an impressive 6-foot-2, 185-pound frame heading into his final season of high school football. At the moment, two of Shipp’s high school teammates—Jadyn Davis and Channing Goodwin—are committed to Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines.

While Davis and Goodwin won’t be on campus this weekend during Shipp’s official visit, there is no doubt that the duo of elite offensive commits is pushing hard for this major Michigan football target to join the ranks of Jim Harbaugh’s elite 2024 recruiting class.

Jordan Shipp a top priority for the coaching staff

Michigan football appears to be in great shape right now. Despite NC State holding a steady lead in the RPM, the Wolverines are gaining ground, and this weekend’s visit may go a long way in locking down a future commitment.

Michigan needs more wide receiver talent in the 2024 recruiting class, and there is no better talent to grab than one who already has a bond and familiarity with the Wolverines’ future star QB.

If all goes well this weekend, expect the Maize and Blue to enter the second week of June with a lead, perhaps signifying a commitment in the near future. If nothing else, the Wolverines can put their best foot forward here and hope for a great outcome ahead of the coming season.

Jordan Shipp has no decision date set just yet, but he believes that a commitment will come before the 2023 season rolls around.
