The 2023 Michigan Wolverines football season is projected to be a big one for the Maize and Blue. After two straight Big Ten titles and trips to the College Football Playoff, it appears that Michigan is poised to finally make the trip to the national title game, achieving many other major goals along the way. According to former Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram, who is now an analyst for FOX Sports, Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines are trending to win it all in 2023-24.

Heisman winner, FOX analyst picks Michigan Wolverines football as his 2023-24 national champion

Michigan football has not won a national title since the 1997 season when Lloyd Carr and Charles Woodson led the Maize and Blue to a perfect 12-0 record, including a Rose Bowl win, Big Ten title, and the AP share of the national title. Controversially, the coaches’ share was handed to Nebraska.

This fall, Michigan football has a shot at something that the program has not done in decades — winning an outright national title. The Wolverines have the roster, the staff, and the schedule to make a title run, and according to Heisman winner and FOX analyst Mark Ingram, Michigan is bound to win it all in 2023.

“You got Michigan, returning a quarterback, a double-headed monster at running back,” Ingram said. “14 starters on offense and defense,” Ingram said. “So are they the early season favorite? Go Blue? Jim Harbaugh and those boys up there? I think so. I kind of like returning starters…and Michigan, right now, I think (Michigan) the early favorite.”

A few Michigan Wolverines football stars, such as Blake Corum, have been quite vocal about this year’s team and its goals. For the Wolverines, nothing less than a national title will do, which is a perfect mindset to approach the 2023 season with for the Maize and Blue.
