Today, the Michigan football recruiting class extended a scholarship offer to a highly sought-after prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, Trent Wilson. Hailing from Baltimore, MD, Wilson is a four-star recruit and has caught the attention of several top-tier football programs, including the Penn State Nittany Lions and Ohio State Buckeyes. With his official scholarship offer from Michigan, Wilson has become a primary target for the Wolverines and will undoubtedly be a player to watch closely as summer recruiting continues.

Michigan football recruiting targeting elite four-star target from Baltimore

Jim Harbaugh and his staff have extended a scholarship offer to Trent Wilson, a highly-touted four-star defensive player in the 2024 recruiting class. Wilson, who currently attends St. Frances Academy in the Baltimore, MD area, is a major target for several Big Ten programs, including Penn State and Ohio State.

According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Wilson is a top-tier defensive lineman, ranked among the top 90 recruits nationwide, top 10 defensive line recruits, and the No. 2 recruit in the state of Maryland. On3’s rankings hold Wilson in even higher regard, ranking him as the No. 50 recruit in the entire country and the No. 1 recruit in Maryland for the 2024 recruiting class.

Before today’s Michigan football offer was extended, Penn State appeared to be his leading school, with Ohio State close behind; now, Michigan football recruiting is looking to swoop in and emerge as a top contender for Wilson’s commitment.
