The 2024 Michigan football recruiting class currently has many commitments — 21 to be exact — and the Maize and Blue are trending to land a number of other top targets. Today, a major four-star target for the Wolverines set a commitment date and announced his top three programs. While Michigan faces stiff competition, they remain the favorite in this race.
Four-star Elias Rudolph sets commitment date, names Michigan football a finalist
Today, a highly regarded four-star defensive end, Elias Rudolph, from Deerfield Beach, Florida, announced that he will be making his commitment on July 3rd, two Mondays from today. Rudolph unveiled his three finalists for recruitment, which include Michigan football, Miami, and Pitt.
In recent news, the Maize and Blue experienced a setback as they missed out on another prominent four-star edge rusher, Aaron Chiles. Chiles, who was considered a strong contender to join Michigan, ultimately chose the Florida Gators over the weekend.
With Chiles no longer in consideration and uncertainty surrounding the status of four-star edge rusher Brian Robinson, it has become crucial for the Wolverines to secure significant pass-rushing talent in the ongoing 2024 cycle.
“I love Michigan. I love the coaching staff. I have talked to a couple of them,” Rudolph said of the Michigan Wolverines, per today’s update via ON3. “They’re going to keep it real and that’s what I love about coaches. You can tell the difference if they are or not. But Michigan is one of the top programs in college football.”
According to the Recruiting Prediction Machine and numerous insider predictions, Elias Rudolph is highly favored to select Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines, which would further bolster Michigan’s already impressive 2024 football recruiting class. As per the 247 rankings, Rudolph is ranked as the 17th best edge rusher in his class and the 38th overall recruit in the state of Florida for the 2024 cycle.
Michigan football fans should keep a close watch, as Jim Harbaugh seems to be closing in on securing a highly sought-after blue-chip prospect.
