A season ago, Michigan football star running back Blake Corum was one of the nation’s top players, narrowly missing Heisman Trophy contention. Despite suffering an injury 10.5 games into the season, he managed to rush for nearly 1,500 yards and score 18 touchdowns, leading the Wolverines to an impressive undefeated record heading into the Ohio State game. As all fans know, Michigan beat the Buckeyes by 22 points the week after Corum was sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Blake Corum opens up about motivation to come back, Michigan football

In the first episode of ‘Michigan Made,’ Blake Corum revealed that last year’s Michigan football loss to the TCU Horned Frogs in the CFP played a role in his decision to skip the 2023 NFL Draft and return to Ann Arbor for the upcoming season.

“That game played a little role in me coming back,” Blake Corum said. “We have one more chance to do it. I just know we have what it takes.”

Last year’s loss was tough for Michigan football, but it sets the stage for what could be a thrilling year in Ann Arbor as the Wolverines aim for a third-straight Big Ten title and national championship. For Blake Corum and his team, there is no greater goal than bringing a championship back to Ann Arbor for the first time in nearly three decades.

“Obviously, the No. 1 goal is to win the national championship,” Corum explained. “We have to go get it. Goal two is just to repeat, so beat Ohio State, beat Michigan State, win the Big Ten championship. Repeat.”
