Michigan football: 17 Wolverines earn preseason All-Big Ten honors

We are less than 60 days away from the first game of the 2023 Michigan football season. As we approach the new year, the Maize and Blue have garnered recognition with 17 standout Wolverines making it to Phil Steele’s preseason All-Big Ten list. Additionally, Michigan has been ranked as a top 3 team in both his preseason power rankings and top 25 poll.

Michigan football has 17 preseason All-Big Ten selections

Last year, Michigan football won a program-record 13 games during the 2022 season, claiming a Big Ten title and a College Football Playoff berth along the way. This year, the Maize and Blue appear poised to make another run for the conference championship and national title. According to Phil Steele, Michigan is ranked as a top 3 team heading into the year. Additionally, the Wolverines have 17 preseason All-Big Ten selections ahead of the 2023 college football season.

First team

Of the 17 preseason All-Big Ten Michigan football players, seven were named to the first team. Here are the top Wolverines heading into the year:

Second team

Four Michigan football standouts were named to the second-team All-Big Ten team, according to Phil Steele.

Third team

Three more Michigan football players made Phil Steele’s third team preseason All-Big Ten team.

Fourth team

There were three final Wolverines named to the preseason All-Big Ten fourth team.
