After achieving a perfect 15-0 record and winning a national championship, Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh finds himself in a familiar offseason situation. For multiple years now, Harbaugh has been rumored to return to the NFL, and while most years these rumors eventually fizzle out, this year feels a bit more serious. After interviewing with the Chargers earlier this week, it was announced yesterday that Harbaugh has also interviewed with the Atlanta Falcons.

Because of Jim Harbaugh’s culture, Michigan football is fresh off the most successful season in program history. Needless to say, fans are eager to lock Harbaugh down as the team’s long-term head coach.

However, as more and more coaching positions become available, Harbaugh is becoming a hotly pursued target for multiple NFL teams. On Monday, the Chargers announced that they interviewed Harbaugh for the head coaching position.

Just a day later, the Atlanta Falcons announced on social media that they interviewed Harbaugh as well.

As head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, Jim Harbaugh had a record of 49-22-1. Harbaugh found success at the NFL level but was unable to win a Super Bowl during his time with the 49ers. Now that he has won a college football national championship, Harbaugh could look to return to the NFL in hopes of joining an elite list of coaches to win both a national championship and a Super Bowl.
