After winning three straight Big Ten titles, appearing in three straight College Football Playoffs, winning a national title, and more, Jim Harbaugh is off to the NFL. After the announcement was made, a few Michigan football legends — Taylor Lewan and Zak Zinter — took to social media to advocate for who they want to be the next head coach: Sherrone Moore.

Michigan football legends want Sherrone Moore to be next head coach in Ann Arbor

During the 2023 season, offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore got a chance to act as interim head coach for four games when Jim Harbaugh was serving two suspensions. These games included rivalry matchups against Penn State and Ohio State. After keeping Michigan’s perfect season alive, Michigan football legends Taylor Lewan and Zak Zinter believe Moore would make the perfect candidate for Michigan’s next head coach.

In addition to these two well-known Michigan football legends, a member of the Wolverines’ 2024 recruiting class chimed in to call for Sherrone Moore to be promoted as well.

Moore appears to be the most likely candidate for head coach as of right now for obvious reasons. His familiarity with the team and success as an interim head coach makes a pretty compelling case for him to take over as the leader of the program.
