Michigan football and Ohio State are known for their battles on the field, though as of late, the battles have moved to the recruiting trail. Right now, both the Wolverines and Buckeyes are gunning hard for top 150 recruit Carter Lowe, a four-star offensive tackle in the 2025 recruiting class. According to Lowe, Michigan and Ohio State currently are at the top of his recruitment and always will be.

Michigan football in good shape for major top 150 recruit out of Ohio

Michigan football and Ohio State are both pushing hard for four-star offensive tackle Carter Lowe, who ranks among the top 150 recruits in the nation according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. According to Lowe, Michigan and Ohio State are both at the top of his list — a trend that he does not see changing.

“This week I’ll be going to Georgia and Alabama and I’m excited to go there and compete as well,” Carter Lowe said, according to Eleven Warriors. “Ohio State and Michigan is always gonna be at the top for me, for sure, though.”

There are still several major programs in the race for Carter Lowe, although only three are listed as ‘warm’ on 247: Michigan, Ohio State, and West Virginia. Landing Lowe would be massive for the Wolverines — not only is he one of the top-ranked targets in the 2025 recruiting class, but he is also a top 5 recruit in the state of Ohio, making him even more valuable for the Maize and Blue.

According to the composite rankings, Carter Lowe is ranked as the No. 141 recruit in the nation, the No. 16 offensive tackle in the 2025 class, and the No. 5 recruit in the state of Ohio. It is still too early to determine the final outcome with this Toledo native, but it appears that the Wolverines are in great shape to secure his commitment.
