One of the biggest reasons that Michigan football star Blake Corum returned to Ann Arbor for his senior season, which will kick off in exactly three weeks, was to help head coach Jim Harbaugh bring a national title back to Ann Arbor, MI. After being sidelined for the final 3.5 games of the Wolverines’ 2022 season, Corum and Harbaugh have revenge on their minds and some lofty goals for the coming college football season.
Michigan football star ready to help his team win it all
Recently, Michigan football star Blake Corum had a chance to comment on his strong relationship with 9th-year head coach Jim Harbaugh. Since taking over the Wolverines ahead of the 2015 season, Harbaugh has an impressive 74-25 overall record with a pair of Big Ten titles, six ranked finishes, five 10-win seasons, and two College Football Playoff appearances — some of the best numbers in the entire country.
This year, it appears that Michigan football is finally in a position to take the next step, perhaps reaching the national title game for the first time in program history. If this is to happen, Jim Harbaugh and Blake Corum need to be on their A-game all season long.
Blake Corum and head coach Jim Harbaugh have an amazing relationship
“Coach Harbaugh is one of the most consistent people I’ve ever been around,” Corum said, per The 33rd Team. “You know what you’re going to get; you know what you’re going to expect. It’s great. Our relationship is definitely one of a kind because we both are passionate about football — we both love football — we both love helping the community. We’re kinda of the same person.
Playing for a like-minded coach like Jim Harbaugh has been quite beneficial for Blake Corum as a player, both on and off the field.
“It’s great playing for a coach like that because he has your best interests (at heart), and you want to make him look the best, and that’s what we do here at Schem (Schembechler Hall). We try to make (Coach Jim Harbaugh) look like the best coach, which he is.”
Blake Corum also added that he is one of the most fortunate players in the nation because he gets to play under Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan football program.
“Our relationship is great. I’m fortunate enough to play (for) Coach Harbaugh. I bet you a lot of people would die to play for him. He’s a legend. It’s something special; it’s something that I really cherish. I would do anything for Coach Harbaugh. He’s such a great coach, and he loves his guys, and he loves the game.”
