Last weekend, four-star Texas offensive tackle Michael Uini visited Ann Arbor for an official visit with Michigan football. Many consider it a successful weekend for the Maize and Blue, and it seems that despite upcoming official visits with Alabama and Georgia, Uini is leaning towards choosing Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines. This is another great sign for the program on the 2024 recruiting trail.

Michigan football expected to land major Texas recruit

Yesterday marked the final day of official visits for the third wave of prospects scheduled to come to Ann Arbor this week. With numerous top-ranked recruits on campus, it’s no surprise that the Maize and Blue pulled out all the stops, putting on yet another impressive showcase. This has become quite common in Ann Arbor this summer.

One of the team’s top targets, Michael Uini, seems to be leaning towards picking Michigan football after his highly impressive visit. This is incredible news for the Wolverines as Uini is one of their top remaining targets in the cycle. According to the Recruiting Prediction Machine, Michigan football has stolen the lead and now has an 87% chance of landing him. The Wolverines also received an insider pick last night.

According to the ON3 rankings, Uini is a four-star offensive tackle from Copperas Cove, TX. He is one of the top offensive tackles in the class, ranking in the top 10. Considering the Wolverines’ emphasis on recruiting talented linemen, his potential commitment would be significant for the Maize and Blue. Uini is ranked as the No. 148 recruit in the nation, the No. 9 offensive tackle in the class, and the No. 28 recruit in the state of Texas.

In the upcoming days, Uini has official visits scheduled with Alabama and Georgia. However, it appears that Michigan football is at the top, so it’s worth keeping an eye on this recruitment as another significant commitment may be in the works.
