Earlier this week, a new defensive line target popped up on Jim Harbaugh’s radar. 2024 four-star defensive tackle Jordan Thomas, the No. 1 recruit in New Jersey, is one of the most recent recruits to receive a scholarship offer from the Michigan football program. Thomas is a top-ranked recruit in the east coast region and could become a major focus of the Wolverines depending on how a few other recruitments shake out.

Michigan football is targeting 2024 four-star defensive tackle Jordan Thomas, the No. 1 recruit in New Jersey

Earlier this week, Jordan Thomas announced via his Twitter account that he has officially received a scholarship offer from the Michigan football program. The Wolverines boast an elite defense and are known for their defensive line development, so this offer could be quite enticing for the young defensive tackle target.

According to the 247 Sports Composite rankings, Jordan Thomas is a four-star defensive tackle recruit out of Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, NJ. He stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs in at 296 pounds; he is ranked as the No. 140 recruit in the 2024 class, the No. 16 defensive lineman, and the No. 1 recruit in New Jersey, according to the composite rankings.

Thomas is yet to visit with the Michigan Wolverines, though he could be a priority recruit over the summer for Jim Harbaugh. Recently, Thomas visited a few major programs, such as Penn State, Georgia, South Carolina, and more. While the Wolverines are a bit late to the scene here, Michigan football could take over his recruitment fairly quickly if the staff plays their cards right. Keep an eye out for Thomas’s name to become a program focus over the next few months.
