After spending four years with the Wolverines, wide receiver and punt returner Jake Thaw entered the transfer portal in search of a new home. Thaw saw minimal playing time with Michigan and could never showcase his talent at wide receiver. Last week, the Michigan football transfer received an offer from the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens, a team that may have some interesting similarities to Michigan football.

During his time with the Wolverines, Thaw saw minimal action at receiver but settled into a shared role at punt returner in 2023. After a very consistent regular season on special teams, Thaw muffed a punt near the endzone in a crucial playoff game against Alabama. However, the senior receiver kept his cool and collected the ball without giving up a safety which could have cost Michigan the game.

This offseason, Thaw entered the transfer portal to find more playing time at receiver. Thaw was recently offered by the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens, a former FCS football team that is moving to the FBS next season.

This could be a good opportunity for Thaw to showcase his skills and find more playing time. In addition, the four-year Wolverine would feel right at home wearing Delaware’s uniforms, which bear a striking resemblance to Michigan’s uniforms, complete with a blue and yellow winged helmet.
