Yesterday evening, Michigan football recruiting added its 24th commitment to the already impressive 2024 recruiting class. Tomorrow, the Wolverines will anxiously await the commitment announcement of Michael Uini, a highly sought-after four-star prospect. Just a week ago, it seemed like Michigan had a strong advantage in securing his commitment, but it now appears that the Georgia Bulldogs have made a successful late push to sway his decision.

Georgia trending for four-star Michigan football recruiting target

Tomorrow, the four-star Michigan football recruiting target will decide between three schools: the Michigan Wolverines, the Georgia Bulldogs, and the Alabama Crimson Tide. If the Wolverines want to continue contending for national titles, beating programs of this caliber on the recruiting trail is essential, and the opportunity to do so is now at the forefront.

That being said, what once felt like a likely victory for Michigan football is now uncertain. The Wolverines were in great shape following Uini’s official visit; however, the Georgia Bulldogs appear to be making a successful late push for his commitment at the buzzer.

Yesterday, numerous insider picks favored the Georgia Bulldogs to land Michael Uini in the 2024 recruiting cycle. This is not devastating news for Michigan football, considering the strength of their 2024 class; however, it will be disappointing if Georgia swoops in and steals a major four-star target from the Maize and Blue at the last second.

According to the ON3 Industry Rankings, Michael Uini is a significant four-star recruit in the 2024 cycle, ranking as the No. 150 recruit nationally, the No. 10 offensive tackle in the class, and the No. 28 recruit in the state of Texas. As mentioned earlier, he will be announcing his decision tomorrow, and the Wolverines’ hat will be on the table. However, it appears that Kirby Smart and his Bulldogs have the upper hand in this recruitment battle.
