On Thursday, ESPN reported that Michigan star running back Blake Corum will miss the Michigan Wolverines’ spring practices due to a knee injury that he suffered last fall. In November of 2022, during the Wolverines’ 19-17 win over Illinois, Blake Corum took an odd shot to the leg and was sidelined for the season. Now, months later, it appears that the injury is still lingering.

Corum to miss spring with knee injury

Before his knee injury, Blake Corum was a bona fide Heisman Trophy candidate; however, after missing three of Michigan’s biggest games, Corum finished 7th in the Heisman voting. Last month, Corum announced that he will be returning to Michigan football for his senior season, which is massive news for the Wolverines’ 2023 season. Still, the knee injury that sidelined him has not been fully rehabbed just yet.

According to Michigan head football coach Jim Harbaugh, Blake Corum will miss spring ball as he continues to rehab his knee in hopes of being at 100% for the season this fall. Harbaugh went on to add, “He’ll get a full summer cycle.

Corum should be at 100% in 2023

Despite missing spring ball, there is a good chance that Blake Corum is back to 100% (or close to it) by fall. The fact that Harbaugh said he will see a full summer cycle is good news; however, taking the spring off could be good for the Wolverines’ elite running back. This will absolutely be a storyline to follow throughout the rest of spring practices.
