The 2023 season has been a complete success for the Michigan Wolverines, who currently sit at No. 1 nationally with a Big Ten title and a 13-0 record heading into the College Football Playoff, where they will face Alabama in the Rose Bowl. Looking ahead to next year, many new faces will be arriving on campus, such as quarterback Jadyn Davis and running back Jordan Marshall (2024 recruiting class), who are the future of the Michigan football program.

The future of Michigan football is set to arrive in Ann Arbor in 2024

Jordan Marshall, a running back out of Ohio, and Jadyn Davis, a quarterback out of North Carolina, are two major names in the Wolverines’ 2024 recruiting class. Both of these elite offensive players are rated as four-star recruits right now, though have immense upside and could quickly become an elite duo for the Maize and Blue in the years to come.

Jodan Marshall shines during senior season

First off, elite Michigan football commit Jordan Marshall has been outstanding this fall, even being named Mr. Football in Ohio (given to the state’s top player) following the 2023 season. During his high school career, Jordan Marshall appeared in 31 games, carrying the ball 493 times for 3,442 rushing yards and 48 rushing touchdowns. He averaged over 110 rushing yards per game and 7.0 yards per carry throughout his three career. He also has 745 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns, as well as a single passing attempt, which led to a 46-yard touchdown.

Jadyn Davis has been elite this fall as well

On top of having an elite running back with Jordan Marshall, it appears that Michigan football has an elite quarterback in its 2024 recruiting class as well. Jadyn Davis, the No. 1 recruit in the state of North Carolina, just wrapped up his senior season with Providence Day High School, and like many other Michigan commits, he has some impressive numbers ahead of his first year in Ann Arbor.

During the 2023 season, Jadyn Davis completed nearly 71% of his passes for 3370 passing yards, 43 passing touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He also ran the ball well, compiling another three touchdowns on the ground this fall. He concluded his senior season of high school ball with a 136.5 passer rating, leading his team to a 12-1 final record this year. Davis, like Marshall, is Mr. Football in his state: North Carolina.

2024 recruiting class has Michigan football in great hands

After flipping Deyvid Palepale from USC, the 2024 Michigan football recruiting class now has 26 commitments and ranks around the top 15, depending on the recruiting service that you are using. While there are a number of elite prospects on their way into Ann Arbor next year, not to mention whoever Michigan grabs from the transfer portal, Jordan Marshall and Jadyn Davis stand out above the rest.

The Wolverines have crafted their current model of offensive success behind having an elite QB/RB combo with JJ McCarthy and Blake Corum — both of whom are likely leaving after the 2023 season. Still, Jim Harbaugh has more talents like them on their way in as he and the Wolverines continue to hunt for Big Ten and national titles for years to come.
