Next month, the Michigan Wolverines will host Weston Port — a top-10 linebacker in the 2025 class — on his return trip to Ann Arbor. If Michigan football recruiting can lock up Port’s commitment, it would be a massive addition in the Wolverines’ next class. Right now, Port is an Ohio State lean with Ryan Day’s Buckeyes hot on the trail.

Michigan football recruiting: meet Weston Port

For those unfamiliar with Weston Port, here are the basics. Port is a 6-1, 215-pound linebacker from San Juan Hills High School in San Juan Capistrano, CA. Port is a 247 and composite four-star, and is ranked the No. 62 player in the 2025 class, the No. 8 linebacker, and No. 10 player in California.

The Michigan Wolverines currently have two commits in the 2025 class — landing Weston Port would be absolutely huge for the program’s recruiting efforts in the next class.

Port to visit Ann Arbor a second time

On March 12th, Weston Port will make a return to Ann Arbor. Here is what Port has to say about Michigan football and his recruitment:

“(This will be my) second trip to Michigan and I can’t wait,” Port told Brice Marich of The Michigan Insider. “It’s a school I have high on my list. I connected with Coach Harbaugh my first visit and have wanted to come back and see more of the school, meet more of the coaches and catch a spring practice… We (Chris Partridge) haven’t met yet, but I know of him and I’m sure he’s awesome,” Port said. “I also got I meet Coach Minter when I came last time. Super cool guy.”

If all goes well next month, Weston Port could become a leader in the Wolverines’ 2025 recruiting efforts, and, eventually, the next great linebacker to wear the Maize and Blue.
