Yesterday, the Wolverines updated their 2023 fall roster on day one of fall camp for the Maize and Blue. With this update, there were some notable weight changes, including significant bulking up by two Michigan football transfer additions: Josaiah Stewart and Ernest Hausmann — both of whom are four-star transfer portal pickups for Jim Harbaugh and his coaching staff.

Ernest Hausmann and Josaiah Stewart are both poised to play considerable roles for the Wolverines in 2023 after transferring to Ann Arbor over the offseason. Stewart, a former Coastal Carolina standout, and Hausmann, a former Nebraska standout, are top-ranked additions to the Maize and Blue defense and have significantly increased their weight heading into their first year with the Wolverines.

Firstly, four-star transfer portal edge rusher Josaiah Stewart, who is currently competing for a starting role on the Michigan football defensive line, has gained 15 pounds over the offseason. He has gone from weighing 230 pounds to breaking the 245-pound mark heading into his first year with the Maize and Blue.

Similarly, four-star transfer portal linebacker Ernest Hausmann, who stood out as a freshman with the Nebraska Cornhuskers in 2022, has also added some solid weight as he looks to earn a starting role during fall camp. According to the updated 2023 roster, Hausmann is now up 17 pounds, going from 220 pounds to an impressive 237 pounds over the offseason.

With these additions, both players are expected to play significant roles for the Wolverines this season, potentially helping the Maize and Blue secure a third-straight Big Ten title, College Football Playoff appearance, and more.
