As of late, Michigan football recruiting has been closing in on a new offensive line target in the 2024 recruiting class: four-star Texas O-line prospect Michael Uini. Over the past week or so, the Maize and Blue have received a number of major insider picks in favor of securing Uini’s commitment. This would add yet another blue-chip lineman to the Wolverines’ current class, which presently ranks No. 2 overall in the composite rankings.

Michigan football recruiting in great shape for major four-star O-Line target

Michael Uini, ranked as the No. 147 recruit in the nation according to the Industry Rankings, is a significant target for Michigan football in the current cycle. The Wolverines have already secured a number of impressive linemen, but Uini stands out due to his high ranking and elite frame. Standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 325 pounds, he appears to be ready for college play.

Hailing from Copperas Cove (TX), Uini is ranked as a top 150 prospect, placing him at No. 9 among offensive tackles in this cycle and No. 28 among recruits in the talent-rich state of Texas.

On June 16th, Uini visited Ann Arbor for an official visit with Michigan football, and reportedly, the visit went incredibly well, giving the Maize and Blue a strong advantage in his recruitment. Texas is still in the mix, but the Recruiting Prediction Machine gives the Wolverines a 94.5% chance of landing this talented four-star offensive tackle when all is said and done.

Recently, new predictions from ON3 and 247 Sports crystal balls have been favoring Michigan football, further indicating that Jim Harbaugh is closing in on another elite commitment for the 2024 class.

Michigan football recruiting fans should keep an eye out because, while the Wolverines haven’t secured Michael Uini just yet, they are getting closer and closer, and it seems likely to happen sometime over the summer.
