Yesterday, Michigan football legend and current Detroit Lions standout edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson, who was the Heisman runner-up during the 2021 season, had a chance to react to the program’s alleged sign-stealing scandal. Amid a massive NCAA investigation into his former team, the ex-Wolverine star came to his team’s defense, sharing some strong thoughts on where things stand.

Michigan football legend has strong thoughts on NCAA investigation

Aidan Hutchinson was the leader of Michigan’s elite 2021 season — the Wolverines finished 12-2 overall with a Big Ten title, a College Football Playoff berth, and more. On Thursday, here is what he said about the NCAA investigation into the Michigan football sign-stealing scandal, per an MLive report.

“They’re doing all their investigations, and they’re coming at Michigan when Michigan’s got a shot to win the national championship this year,” Michigan football legend Aidan Hutchinson said. “So I don’t know. It is what it is. I guess time will pass, and people will forget about it and move on once we’re the (Big Ten) champs again.

“People are always stealing signs in college football,” Hutchinson continued. “People stole our signs. Other Big Ten schools stole our signs. It’s just a thing when you’re in college football, so I mean, not any more than anybody else did, as far as I’m concerned.”

Aidan Hutchinson denies personal relationship with Connor Stalions amid sign-stealing scandal

Connor Stalions is at the heart of the Michigan football investigation into sign-stealing. Right now, a selfie taken by Stalions with the Michigan football superstar is floating around on social media, though Aidan Hutchinson denies much of a relationship with the now-suspended staffer.

“I didn’t have a relationship with him,” he said. “It’s kind of just one of the coaches upstairs that you don’t really ever see, so I don’t think any of the players really had a relationship with him ever.”
