As of late, the Michigan football recruiting efforts are heating up on the trail, with recent acquisitions of a brand new four-star wide receiver and more. As of now, the Wolverines have the top-ranked class in the country, including 16 hard commits, and counting – among them is five-star QB Jadyn Davis. Today, there is more good news for Jim Harbaugh’s team, as the Wolverines have been named a top-2 school for major four-star defensive back Ondre Evans. Evans is ranked as the No. 1 recruit in the state of Tennessee by On3.

According to On3 rankings, Ondre Evans is a highly rated four-star defensive back, listed among the best prospects in the 2024 recruiting class. He is ranked as the No. 83 recruit in the class, the No. 11 cornerback in the nation, and the No. 1 recruit in Tennessee. If Jim Harbaugh and his team can land Evans, it could be a major coup for the 2024 cycle.

Evans currently stands at an impressive 6-foot and weighs 170 pounds heading into his final season of high school football. With help from the Michigan football coaching staff in the weight room, Evans could become an elite prospect early on in his college career.

Evans has garnered significant interest from many Southern programs in the SEC and Big 12, being a product of CPA in Nashville, TN. However, Michigan football and NC State are currently leading the way in his recruitment, with a number of other schools lagging behind.

On3 reports that Evans’ recent visit to Ann Arbor, MI was the deciding factor in Michigan jumping into his top-2 choices. Prior to his visit, the Wolverines didn’t have much momentum in his recruitment, but that has changed significantly as of late. Fans of Michigan football recruiting should keep a close eye on Evans’ recruitment throughout the summer ball and the fall season.
