The Michigan football recruiting class is shaping up to be one of Jim Harbaugh’s best since taking over in Ann Arbor back in late 2014. Currently, the class is ranked No. 1 in the nation with 16 hard commitments and counting, including the class’s crown jewel: five-star QB Jadyn Davis, who committed to Michigan on March 31st. Today, one of the top targets for the Wolverines, four-star linebacker Aaron Chiles, announced his top-3 finalists, and Michigan made the cut.

Aaron Chiles has been considered a strong Michigan football lean for quite some time now but is yet to commit. He is one of the top remaining targets for the Wolverines’ 2024 recruiting class, which is looking to defend its current top-ranked status throughout the summer recruiting and the 2023 season this fall. Having the nation’s first-ranked class is nice, though it is only June, and Michigan football recruiting needs to keep its foot on the gas.

Four-star linebacker Aaron Chiles names Michigan football recruiting a finalist

The three remaining schools left in Aaron Chiles’s recruitment are Michigan football, Florida, and Maryland. Seeing as he is a native of Maryland, the Terrapins appear to have a strong regional advantage. That being said, Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines have the clear-cut lead right now, and unless something drastically changes over the summer, Chiles is expected to go Maize and Blue when all is said and done.

According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Aaron Chiles is a four-star linebacker recruit out of Our Lady Good Counsel High School in Maryland. He is ranked as the No. 75 recruit in the nation, the No. 6 linebacker in the class, and the No. 1 recruit in Maryland. He is a major national target, and his likely commitment will only further establish Michigan football recruiting as a major player in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
