Today is the Early Signing Period for Jim Harbaugh’s 2024 class, which currently ranks 16th nationally in the composite team rankings. Today, Michigan football recruiting is projected to land a new major target: four-star edge rusher Lugard Edokpayi out of Maryland, who the Wolverines have been trending heavily for as of late. The Terrapins are also in this race right now, though Michigan still seems like a safe bet when the time comes to put pen to paper later today.

New four-star for Michigan football recruiting during the Early Signing Period?

The Early Signing Period is a major time for Michigan football recruiting fans, especially with the Rose Bowl just 12 days away for Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines. As Michigan’s current team preps for its playoff matchup against Alabama, the next generation of Michigan Wolverines will start the signing process today — gone will be the days of verbal commitments as these recruits officially sign in Ann Arbor.

Insiders heavily favoring the Wolverines to land Lugard Edokpayi

Recently, insiders have been clammoring about a new prospect that Michigan football is trending to land in its 2024 class: Lugard Edokpayi, a four-star edge rusher out of Maryland, who is expected to turn Maize and Blue on Wednesday. Yesterday, he announced that his recruitment was officially shut down amid a flurry of crystal balls and RPM picks favoring the Wolverines to land his commitment.

Per the 247 Sports rankings, Lugard Edokpayi is rated as a four-star prospect and ranks as the No. 169 player in the country, the No. 12 edge rusher in the 2024 class, and the No. 6 player in the state of Maryland for this cycle. Of course, many believe that Maryland is still making a push, though his RPM odds of 97.9% in favor of the Wolverines, as well as four crystal balls favoring Michigan, have us confident that Jim Harbaugh will land this blue-chip talent later today.
