Michigan football recruiting has been on an absolute roll with the class of 2024. Now, just when you thought things might slow down for the Wolverines, they’ve picked up yet another offensive lineman. As their momentum continues, it seems as though the offensive side of the ball is all but finalized. Offensive tackle Jake Guarnera is the fifth pick-up for their offensive line, and this could be one of the best classes Michigan football has seen in years.

Michigan football recruiting: Jake Guarnera is a Wolverine

The fifth and possibly final offensive line commitment for the class of 2024 comes from Jake Guarnera, a three-star prospect out of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. The 6-foot-4, 290-pound inside offensive lineman is rated as the No. 54 player out of Florida and No. 25 at his position.

Guarnera has spent most of his career outside at the offensive tackle position. Still, despite this, he projects more to the inside as a guard, primarily due to his height and overall size. This is even more beneficial for Michigan, considering they already have three tackles committed to the class.

Ultimately, Michigan football beat out elite programs such as Florida, NC State, Rutgers and Penn State for Guarnera’s talents. Beating out other Big Ten schools for his commitment is a massive win for the Wolverines. After winning the conference two seasons in a row, it’s nice to see Michigan dominating in recruiting as well as on the field.

The Wolverines’ offensive line class might be complete

With Guarnera’s commitment, the Wolverines officially have five offensive linemen in the class, the exact amount needed to fill a complete offensive line. The other commits are Andrew Sprague, Blake Frazier, Luke Hamilton and Ben Roebuck.

Out of the other four commits, Roebuck is the only other three-star in the class, showing just how elite the group is. Offensive line domination has become something of a trend for the Wolverines. After winning the Joe Moore Award for the best offensive line in college football two years in a row, there’s little doubt their domination can continue if they continue pulling in classes like this.

Now with the trenches all but finalized, eyes turn toward the skill positions. Michigan football recruiting has yet to gain the commitment of a wide receiver which should be the next step for their class. In the meantime, the Michigan offensive line should be more than capable of carrying the weight into the near future.
