Last night, it was reported that currently suspended staffer Connor Stalions, who is at the heart of the sign-stealing allegations, bought tickets to Alabama games, such as the SEC title matchup in 2021. Today, Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban had a chance to react to the Michigan football scandal and more — here is what the legendary head coach had to say.

Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban is perhaps the greatest to ever coach the game of college football. According to new reports — which are yet to be confirmed, though are largely regarded as accurate — Michigan football staffer Connor Stalions bought tickets to the 2021 SEC title game between Alabama and Georgia. If anyone attended and for what purpose remains a question mark, though it is safe to assume that this can all be tied to Stalions’ alleged sign-stealing scheme.

“Well, first of all, I didn’t know anything about anybody coming to the SEC Championship Game or whatever,” Nick Saban said this week, per On3 “And I don’t have a lot of information or background on all the sign-stealing stuff. I’m kind of focused on our team.”

Nick Saban didn’t have much else to say about Michigan football; however, he did have a few thoughts on rule changes from the NCAA moving forward — specifically in regards to on-field communication technology.

“I do think the helmet communicator is probably a real powerful thing for the game,” Saban explained. “Everybody should — you can’t steal signs or do any of this stuff if you have a helmet communicator, and I think it’s, I think it would be a good thing. It’s worked out well in the NFL, and I also think it’s good to have one guy on defense that you could tell that guy what the call is without having to go through all this signaling process.”

Michigan football has a bye this week, and while the NCAA has not formally made the Wolverines aware of what is going on, it is expected that everything will start to unfold soon here. That said, this could take a while, so strap in and get ready for weeks, months, and perhaps even years to figure out what actually happened with Connor Stalions and Michigan’s program.
