At this point in the year, everyone knows that Jadyn Davis is priority No. 1 on Jim Harbaugh’s radar; however, there is another name drawing some interest among Wolverines fans. Ryan Montgomery — the No. 1 player in Ohio in 2025 — just announced that he will make a 7th trip to Ann Arbor, MI on March 12th.

Who is the No. 1 player in Ohio?

Ryan Montgomery is a four-star QB prospect in the 2025 class — he hails from Findlay High School in Findlay, OH, and is a major recruiting target for many of the Big Ten’s top teams. Right now, Montgomery is said to be an Ohio State lean, with Michigan and Penn State hot on the Buckeyes’ tail. According to the On3 industry rankings, he is the top prospect in Ohio, meaning Jim Harbaugh has an opportunity to disrupt Ohio State’s recruiting pipeline.

Montgomery is an On3 and composite four-star quarterback, ranked as the No. 47 player nationally, the No. 4 quarterback, and the No. 1 player in Ohio. According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Michigan football has the second-best odds to land Montgomery — the Buckeyes come in first with a 26.3% chance to land him, Michigan comes in second at 17.3%, and Penn State sits at third with a 10% shot.

Montgomery sets 7th visit to Ann Arbor

So far, Montgomery has visited with Jim Harbaugh and his Wolverines six times — this spring, he will visit a 7th time. The only team with more visits than UM right now is Ohio State, who boasts eight. When the announcement was made, Michigan State and a few others were listed to receive visits as well; however, the 6-3, 210-pound quarterback including a 7th trip to Ann Arbor is a great sign for the Wolverines’ chances. Now, it’s time for Harbaugh & Co. to seal the deal.
