Following the 2022 college football season, former Wolverine captain and standout tight end, Erick All, entered the transfer portal and committed to the Iowa Hawkeyes. Now, ahead of the 2023 season, this notable Michigan football transfer loss is reportedly fitting in well and is one of the most impressive players for his new Big Ten team.

If Michigan football can make it to the Big Ten Championship Game for the third year in a row, the Wolverines may see a few familiar faces on the opposing sidelines. Cade McNamara and Erick All, both former Michigan captains, are now in the Big Ten West with Iowa.

Regarding Erick All, who missed the 2022 season due to injury, he possesses the skill set to be one of the top tight ends in the country and could lead the way to greater offensive success for the Hawkeyes in 2023.

“I felt the same thing a year ago, in Indianapolis. Unfortunately, we were watching him from the sideline,” Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz said of his new transfer portal tight end, per a spring ball report. “When you meet Erick, he is just an unbelievably nice young man. He’s a really impressive guy.”

Erick All, a seasoned Big Ten tight end, had a somewhat turbulent departure from the Michigan football program. However, he showcased exceptional skills as both a receiver and blocker during his tenure in Ann Arbor. Considering the lackluster offensive performance Iowa displayed last year, acquiring a player of All’s caliber will have significant implications for the Hawkeyes across various aspects of the game.

“He’s a great guy,” said fellow Iowa tight end Addison Ostrenga. “He’s a vet, too, so I’m learning stuff from him, which is cool. It’s awesome, we can bring him in, and he just fits right in.”

This fall, Erick All will begin a new chapter in his college career. While he remains in the Big Ten, he will now aim to guide a different program to the conference title game, much like he did with the Michigan football program in 2021.
