Against Ohio State last weekend, Michigan football star cornerback Will Johnson had some incredible plays, even picking off Buckeye quarterback Kyle McCord in the first quarter, leading to the Wolverines’ first touchdown of the game. This week, however, Johnson is dealing with a leg injury — he gave an update on how he is doing on Tuesday night ahead of the Big Ten title game.
Injury news for Michigan football star Will Johnson
Will Johnson is perhaps the only cornerback in the Big Ten that is talented enough to keep Marvin Harrison Jr. in check. Still, this week, against an abysmal Iowa offense, the Michigan football defensive back is questionable due to injury.
Last weekend, after recording a game-changing pick and more, Johnson missed a lot of game time — including a crucial second half of the Ohio State game. With the title game fast approaching, he says that he is able to play against Iowa if need be, yet remains unsure.
“I feel a lot better than I did on Saturday,” Will Johnson said Today. “Yeah, just tweaked a little something. But I was out at practice today, and everything’s good.
“I mean, my best ability is availability, so trying to be available is the biggest thing, and trying to be at my best health is the biggest thing, too,” Johnson added. “So I mean, I’m going to do whatever I can to be out there to Saturday, but if that’s not the case, then I’ll be back the next time we play.”
Michigan doesn’t need Johnson to win the Big Ten title
The good news for Michigan football here? Having Will Johnson may not be all that important in the Big Ten title game, seeing as the Iowa offense is not known for… well, anything, really.
