Despite a plethora of standout performances, the Maize and Blue witnessed many impressive displays in 2022, resulting in a 13-1 finish with a Big Ten title and a College Football Playoff berth. This fall, the Maize and Blue will welcome back a host of star players to Ann Arbor who will be fully healthy, unlike last season. Among these players are Blake Corum, Donovan Edwards, and Junior Colson — a linebacker for Michigan football.

Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards are two players that all Michigan football fans know played through injuries in 2022. However, there are other notable names who were banged up last fall and still played. One of these notable players is star linebacker Junior Colson, the Wolverines’ top LB and someone to watch for in the 2023 season.

This season, Junior Colson should be back and better than ever. The Wolverines have a wealth of defensive talent, but finding an experienced, talented, and healthy linebacker is rare.

“I’ll be back soon, this summer,” Junior Colson said this spring, according to 247 Sports. “I’m just taking it slow. I don’t think it’s any rush for me right now. I just want to be back, because this is something I’ve been dealing with for a while and finally got it handled.”

This standout Michigan football linebacker is poised for bigger and better things in the coming year, as are the Wolverines as a whole. If Michigan expects to finally climb the ladder and claim the program’s first national title since 1997, Colson and this year’s defense need to continue to impress. When Colson is back to being 100% this fall, keep an eye on this Michigan football star linebacker, as he could very well become one of the best defenders in all of college football.
