One of the top players in Jim Harbaugh’s new 2024 recruiting class is four-star QB Jadyn Davis, a top 100 prospect and North Carolina’s top high school football player of 2023. This week, it is being reported that the Michigan football quarterback signee, who made his commitment official on Wednesday by signing his NLI, will be practicing with the Wolverines ahead of their Rose Bowl College Football Playoff matchup against Alabama.

Michigan football quarterback signee Jadyn Davis will practice for Rose Bowl

Jadyn Davis was a five-star quarterback when he first committed to Michigan football, though he has since dropped in all major recruiting rankings, and now sits as a four-star according to every major outlet.

Still, Davis is reason for excitement in Ann Arbor right now, and as his future team trains for a Rose Bowl bout against No. 4 Alabama on January 1, Davis will reportedly be getting a head start and traveling to Pasadena to partake in bowl practices.

This is a great sign for Michigan football for a number of reasons — perhaps the best of which being that Jadyn Davis will start learning the playbook early-on. Will he be the starter in 2024? Likely not (despite being the jewel of Michigan’s 2024 recruiting class); however, there is a chance that he will get solid reps next year and take over in 2025, quite similar to how Jim Harbaugh used JJ McCarthy in 2021 and 2022.

Additionally, this will provide the future Michigan football quarterback with a chance to truly get acquainted with his new program, how it’s run, the speed of college vs. high school, and more. It’s a fantastic opportunity for Davis, and an incredible sight for the Wolverines that their next QB is already putting in college-level work.

While Jadyn Davis won’t be playing in the Rose Bowl game in Pasadena, he will be practicing with Michigan football as the team prepares for its biggest test of the Jim Harbaugh-era: beating Alabama in the playoff.
