Today, highly sought-after four-star wide receiver target Jordan Shipp will announce his college decision. Previously, it seemed that the Michigan football recruiting efforts had been exceptional, positioning the Wolverines as the front-runners to secure this major four-star offensive talent. However, all the crystal ball predictions for Shipp changed last night, favoring his home-state team, the North Carolina Tar Heels. This indicates that the Wolverines have missed out on yet another highly-ranked recruit.
Michigan football recruiting likely missing on four-star wide receiver Jordan Shipp, per crystal ball predictions
Michigan football recruiting has been performing well in the 2024 recruiting class thus far. Nevertheless, it appears that the four-star North Carolina wide receiver will be heading elsewhere, despite initial reports suggesting a strong lead for the Maize and Blue.
It’s worth noting that Jordan Shipp is a sought-after teammate of two current Michigan football commits: five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis and four-star wide receiver Channing Goodwin. Undoubtedly, both of these Providence Day High School products made a strong effort to convince Shipp to bring his talents to Ann Arbor. However, these efforts seem to have fallen short.
According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Jordan Shipp is rated as a four-star wide receiver, ranking as the 65th-best wide receiver recruit in the nation and the 13th-best player in the state of North Carolina. Although there hasn’t been an official announcement yet, it seems that Michigan football will not secure Shipp for the 2024 class. This leaves four-star Gatlin Bair and five-star Ryan Wingo as the top remaining wide receiver targets for the Wolverines in the 2024 cycle.
