The 2024 recruiting class has treated the Wolverines well thus far. Two weeks into July, the Maize and Blue have the 4th-ranked class nationally with 26 hard commits and counting as the fall opener draws near. In addition to the many impressive commits that Jim Harbaugh has landed so far, two major Michigan football targets broke ON3’s top 10 uncommitted wide receivers list.

According to the latest ON3 recruiting rankings, two of the top Michigan football targets remaining in the 2024 cycle are among the top 10 uncommitted wide receivers in the nation. While the Wolverines would love to secure both of these elite prospects, either of them would be a highly ranked difference maker for the Maize and Blue, making it a significant recruiting win.

The first target on the list is five-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo, who recently announced a decision date for this December. Michigan football is eager to have Wingo join the roster and made a strong push for his commitment during his official visit in June. Currently, it seems that Wingo is leaning toward Texas, but Michigan has piqued his interest and could make a strong push throughout the remainder of the year.

The second top-ranked uncommitted wide receiver on the list is Gatlin Bair, a four-star standout from Idaho and said to be the fastest recruit in the nation. While Bair is a 2024 recruit, he will not actually sign until the 2026 cycle due to his two-year mission following high school.

For Michigan football, Gatlin Bair is one of the top remaining players on their recruitment radar. After an exciting official visit last month, it appears that the Maize and Blue are leading the race to secure Bair’s commitment — a lead that the Wolverines will strive to maintain as the recruiting process continues.
