Earlier this week (on Monday), there was a Michigan football NIL event — a golf outing with Jim Harbaugh and others, with all proceeds going to the Wolverines’ NIL efforts. Additionally, there was an auction, with one of the prizes being a golfing trip with Jim Harbaugh and former Michigan quarterback Tom Brady, which will reportedly take place in Florida on Michael Jordan’s golf course.
Michigan football NIL efforts get a huge boost from Jim Harbaugh, Tom Brady golfing trip
This massive opportunity reportedly sold for $155,000, according to The Wolverine. While the entire event was a smashing success, getting Tom Brady to pitch in and help out the Maize and Blue in the world of NIL could be massive for the program in the immediate and far-out future. Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion and the greatest player to ever pick up a football, is perhaps the most recognizable face in American sports right now — he is also a former Michigan football captain, something he flaunts quite often.
During Brady’s time as a starter in the Maize and Blue, he led the Wolverines to a 19-5 overall record, including a Big Ten title and a New Year’s Six win — he was also a backup QB on Lloyd Carr’s 1997 national title-winning squad, which remains Michigan’s most recent title.
With the ‘GOAT’ on his side, Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan football NIL efforts are in great shape, further highlighting the Wolverines’ prowess and ability to change with the times. Shoutout to the lucky bidder, Michigan alumnus Scott Stewart, who reportedly won the golf outing with Brady and Harbaugh.
