ANN ARBOR, MI — On Saturday, the Michigan Wolverines hosted many of the best recruits in the 2024, 2025, and 2026 recruiting classes. After Jim Harbaugh’s massive recruiting weekend, it seems as if Michigan football has taken the lead for No. 1 QB Bryce Underwood from Belleville, MI.

Michigan takes lead for No. 1 QB Bryce Underwood

Heading into Michigan’s massive Saturday, the Michigan State Spartans led for No. 1 QB Bryce Underwood with a 33% chance to land him per On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine. Despite Michigan State’s lead, the Wolverines were close behind with a 22.3% chance to land Underwood. Now, after Michigan football clearly made a good impression, the Wolverines are the new favorite to land the nation’s op 2025 quarterback.

Bryce Underwood — the No. 6 player in the nation, No. 1 quarterback, and No. 1 player in the state of Michigan (247) — is one of the most sought-after prospects in the entire country, and sits right in Jim Harbaugh’s back yard. Needless to say, the Wolverines need to grab Underwood’s commitment for a number of reasons, including maintaining dominance in their own state.

Michigan erases Michigan State’s lead

On Sunday, after No. 1 QB Bryce Underwood visited with Michigan football, the Recruiting Prediction machine shows UM as the frontrunner in his recruitment. Michigan football went from around a 22% chance to land Underwood to 31.2% overnight, and are now listed as Underwood’s No. 1  team — Michigan overtook Mel Tucker’s Michigan State Spartans for the top spot.
